Warp Speed.

A small but perfectly formed group of eight drivers lined up on the grid for this week’s Sideways GT3 round. If slot car racing had pole positions, Julian would have taken it, his car travelling at warp speed along the main straight and banging out pre-race lap times that were in a different league to his competitors.

In the race, Julian’s dominance continued. Simon did his best to compete and took second place, but at almost a minute behind Julian it left him scratching his head wondering how he’d ever find the extra speed needed to take the fight to Julian.

The real battle was for third, Terry eventually taking the honour after a race-long four-way fight with Neil, Chris and David. Neil and Chris had held 2nd and 3rd places for most of the evening, but as fast as they pulled out a lead over Terry and David, they’d throw it away by crashing, so despite Terry crashing several times too, he was amazed to find himself in 3rd place at the end of the night.
