Sideways Group 5 returned this week and so did Julian’s Pink Pig long-tail Porsche 935, but the aging porker didn’t quite score maximum points this time, pipped to the post by 0.003 seconds in the battle for the fastest lap point by Josh’s Nissan Skyline, despite winning the race overall.

Julian had retired his Porsche from competition in January 2023, wheeling out a new Sauber BMW M1 for four races instead, but the BMW wasn’t all-conquering and lost twice to Lee’s Momo long-tail Porsche 935, so Julian unretired Pink Pig in August 2023 and has stuck with it since. With its victory this week taking its win tally since unretirement to 7 out of 9 races, there’s little sign of it stopping racing any time soon.

Despite his Skyline’s obvious pace, Josh was a distant second overall and Simon equally distant in third. Chris put in a great drive to take fourth ahead of a five-way fight for fifth between Terry, Ed, Jim, Neil and David.
