Molesey GT – Rules and eligible models.
- Allowed
- Any 1:32 scale hard-bodied GT-type slot car that is or was commercially available in the UK from the following manufacturers:
- Arrow Slot
- Avant Slot
- Black Arrow
- Carrera
- Fly / GB-Track
- Flyslot
- MRSlotcar.ca
- Ninco
- NSR
- Policar
- ProSlot
- Scaleauto
- Scalextric
- SCX
- Sideways
- Slot.it
- Slotwings
- Thunderslot
- Any 1:32 scale hard-bodied GT-type slot car that is or was commercially available in the UK from the following manufacturers:
- Country of origin
- All parts fitted to the car must be or have been commercially available in the UK.
- Axles
- Free choice.
- Bearings
- Free choice.
- Body
- Must not be modified.
- Must be produced by the same manufacturer as the chassis to which it is fitted.
- Must be fully painted.
- Must display a race number clearly visible on the exterior of the body.
- Body interior/driver tray
- The original interior/driver tray may be modified or replaced with a lightweight alternative.
- The interior/driver tray must include a driver helmet, fitted in an appropriate position.
- Chassis
- Must be plastic.
- Must not be modified.
- Must be produced by the same manufacturer as the body to which it is fitted.
- Must be originally designed for the body to which it is fitted.
- All stiffness grades allowed.
- Gears
- Pinion
- Free choice.
- Spur/Crown
- Free choice.
- Pinion
- Guide
- Free choice.
- Motor
- Any motor with a manufacturer specification of 23,000rpm or lower is allowed.
- Motor mount (where applicable)
- Free choice.
- Must remain unmodified except where it is necessary to remove a small amount of material to prevent stress fractures when installing and removing the motor.
- Motor orientation
- The motor may be mounted as an inline, angle-winder or side-winder, but must be in the orientation as originally intended for the chassis to which it is fitted.
- If the chassis and/or motor mount is designed to accept multiple motor orientations, any of those for which it is designed may be used.
- Suspension
- May be fitted.
- Free choice of manufacturer.
- Track
- Front and rear
- Wheels and tyres must not exceed the limits of the body when viewed from above when either axle is moved to its extreme left or right positions.
- Front and rear
- Traction magnets
- Must not be fitted.
- Tyres
- Front – Any black tyre.
- May be glued/trued/glazed.
- Rear – Any black rubber or synthetic rubber tyre.
- May be glued and trued.
- Silicone and sponge tyres are prohibited.
- Front – Any black tyre.
- Weight
- Additional ballast may be used.
- Must be securely fixed.
- Must fit within the confines of the body when the body is fitted to the chassis.
- Wheels
- Front – Free choice, but with a minimum diameter of 15.8mm.
- Rear – Free choice, but with a minimum diameter of 15.8mm.
- Wheel inserts
- Are not required.
- Sundries
- All other components are free choice – e.g. braids, wires, screws, spacers, glues and lubricants.
