08/12/19: Molesey GT Open. NSR/Scaleauto GT3

Molesey GT Open. NSR/Scaleauto GT3.

Many thanks to all who attended what was a great day of good close racing.

The entry list gave a real diverse cross section of experience and ability with even a couple of BSCRA regulars giving the ‘toy cars’ a go.

After completion of the heats we had a few issues with the race management software, but thanks to the patience of everyone, Neil managed to cobble things together to get the finals done and bring the day to a conclusion.

The overall winner of the event was Josh Bryant with strong drives on all six lanes. Lewis Gough took top visitor spot, with Paul Harwood second and Jeff Norton third. Lewis Gough also won the Brian George memorial shield for 2019.

Hopefully we’ll see you all for round 4 of the GT3 series proper in July 2020 when, fingers crossed, we will have ironed out the glitches in the computer (or taken it outside and shot it!).

This will be the last GT open we run in December for the foreseeable future as we will be changing the class (all being well) to the new NSR Formula cars for 2020.

Until then, thanks again to everyone who supported this event and season’s greetings to you all.

Julian.

  • “A” final result:
    1. Josh Bryant – Molesey SCC
    2. Julian Edwards – Molesey SCC
    3. Lewis Gough – Wolves SCC
    4. David Harmer – Molesey SCC
    5. Paul Harwood
    6. Ed Pink – Molesey SCC

Results after all heats completed. 6 x 15 lap heats per driver, one heat per lane.

Step-up finals followed, but the computer said “No!” when it came to recording the results. Damned technology!
